Hello!
My name is Weis.
I'm Russian, female, psychologist and sometimes translator.

I must confess – this journal is mostly for fun and my ranting about life, Highlander and Harry Potter.
Watching “Highlander” time and again I wonder how warm it is, how homey and comfortable, despite all silliness and naivety. And maybe because of this. I like the most that this series is about people, their flaws and noble deeds; complicate friendship and humanistic ideals, funny things and actors’ talent.
There are many good actors in the series, but Adrian and Peter are the very best. They made this show alive, beautiful, and full of light, intense and funny. They made it interesting and intriguing. They are delight for the eye. I like watch them in every their movie or series, but watching them in “H” makes it like homecoming, like trip to the past, to happier, less complicated time. Like sanctuary.
And of course, it doesn’t hurt that Adrian Paul and Peter Wingfield are incredibly beautiful and talented people with amazing charisma. I still think that Peter Wingfield was the best thing that could happen to series, though Adrian' appeal is undeniable and irresistable.
Sometimes it helps – to know that somewhere in the world Duncan MacLeod – steadfast, stubborn and good-hearted still banter with Methos – intriguing, wise and shyly protective. It helps to know that they still keep memory of all things, good and bad, and will be keeping it for a very long time. I believe in them because I believe that some things are not just fiction, but ideas of real things, caught by curios mind and put in stories.
Considering Harry Potter, I believe that canon version of it does not deserve all that fuss and adoration. There are too many logical and moral flaws. First and foremost it’s adventure literature, made for sale. All that moral rubbish became the downfall of entire saga. Though there are several good ideas. Many good ideas, in fact. Which could be even better if author though them through carefully.
I’m grateful to HP canon for Professor Snape and Malfoys, for Neville and thestrals, for mystic Luna and house-elves. But even more I’m grateful to fanon for brilliant, heroic and sarcastic (and not psychotic) Professor Snape, for noble and constructive (and often loving) Malfoys, for independent and kind-hearted Harry, for kind Hermione and smart Ron, for brave Neville and funny Luna, for many interesting heroes that weren’t made such in canon, for whom we took care of when JKR abandoned them.
We are going to continue taking good care of them, like Duncan and Methos will of each other.
And everything will be right in the world.

I’ve translated into Russian several fics, written by Abstract Concept, Goblin Cat KC, Enahma, Earthwalk, Duinn Fionn, Tantz, Dien Alcion, allecto and some other authors.
I'm honored that these wonderful people let me work with their stories. And deeply regret that I have not enough time to many others. But sometime I will.
